Butterfly Gardening in Michigan

This event has ended
Wednesday, June 1st, 2016
to (Eastern Time)
St Daniel's Church, 7010 Valley Park Dr, Clarkston, MI, 48346 Map

Presented by?Betty Seagull

What do butterflies need to thrive? Food, water, and a place to live and reproduce, just like us. But with 95% of land in the lower 48 states in development, pollinators like butterflies and bees are imperiled.

Instead of wringing our hands, we can make a real difference by creating native habitat in our own yards. This presentation will help you learn how you can create a butterfly-friendly native garden.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this free North Oakland Wild Ones event. Donations are always welcome to help bring future educational opportunities! A printable flyer is available for distribution here. Doors open at 7, and the presentation starts at 7:30.

Habitat loss is the leading cause of bird population declines, but through cultivating native landscapes, no matter the size, we can make a difference. Your backyard, office, or school can make a significant impact for birds by incorporating native plants.

This presentation will discuss the vital connections between birds and native plants and provide an introduction to actions Michigan Audubon and other Audubon groups nation-wide are taking to promote native landscapes for birds.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this free North Oakland Wild Ones event. Donations are always welcome to help bring future educational opportunities! A printable flyer is available for distribution here. Doors open at 7, and the presentation starts at 7:30.
