Moore/Pozniak house gardens. Project started in 2005 with a completely bare (new construction) lot. Sod was first put down, but over the years, much was removed to make way for ever-expanding native plant gardens. The last of the sod was removed in 2010 when the entire yard was overhauled. Two rain gardens were installed in the front, along with multiple stone walls and pathways. Remaining grassy areas were seeded with Pearl’s Premium. Though the yard was stripped almost bare during this construction, no new grasses or forbs were acquired, only trees and shrubs. Pre-construction, many plants were dug up and heeled on the side yard during construction, and replanted, and most did very well. The next spring showed many natives appearing due to the disturbance of the seed bank.
