Laurie Kaufman, an MSU Professor in the Department of Horticultural, will be speaking with us about designing with native plants. Laurie is a founding member of the Mid-Michigan Stewardship Initiative, a member of The Stewardship Network, Wild Ones Red Cedar Chapter, the Capital Area Master Gardeners, & the Great Lakes Phragmites Collaborative.
Laurie received the 2014 Meridian Township Environmental Award for promoting community awareness of invasive species. She has led field tours & presented to community groups on topics relating to use of native plants & invasive species awareness in the Greater Lansing area. Laurie works for MSU as an Associate Professor at the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
