NOWO Grant Program

North Oakland Wild Ones (NOWO) awards grants biannually to fund projects such as schoolyard habitats, municipal sites like parks and libraries, places of worship, neighborhood beautification efforts, and other non-profit projects located in the Detroit tri-county region. Projects should advance the NOWO mission of using native plants to support ecological health, biodiversity, and climate resilience for all communities. These grants are made possible by funds generated from NOWO native plant sales and other fundraising activities. Please read all instructions and requirements carefully before completing your application, as it may prove valuable when designing your project and submitting your application.
Award Amount
Each applicant may request up to $750.00 in support. Funds can be used to purchase plants and seeds for your project. Improperly submitted applications will not be considered for funding.
